Clickers

Clickers are hand-held devices, much like household remote controls, that have been implemented in classrooms to gauge student participation and learning. Clickers can also be used to collect data from a group of participants gathered in one location at the same time.

  • Reduce errors/missing data
  • Greatly reduce/eliminate data entry
  • Increase internal program evaluation capacity
  • Can collect data from large groups of respondents at once
  • Cost effective over time
  • Typically limited to collecting quantitative data
  • Technology may be off-putting to certain demographics of respondents
  • Cost of obtaining clicker technology system may be prohibitive initially
